Bringing everything up to date:

Time to update this old blog.

Over the last few years I have finished many projects.  I did finish the den/sun room we were building, it is my favorite room in the house.  Here are a couple of photos:

outside unfinished

inside finished

Great views of the lake!

I have also finished several projects for clients including pressure washing and re-staining a large deck and stairs in Rocky Face, updating a bathroom, reworking the front of a downtown Dalton business - Sophies Place salon. I remodeled the outside of the building for the owner.

Added new railings on 2 decks, built a workshop in attic space over a garage.

I spent about 8 weeks re-modeling  the Wink Theater balcony in Dalton for Rock Bridge Community Church last year.

I also finished several projects last year for a client in the western part of Whitfield county. I installed some bathroom fixtures, painted exterior shutters, doors and trim in a downstairs room. Also painted front and basement entry doors.

Installed new front entry door, new kitchen stove and water heater for client in Chattanooga.

A client in Rocky Face had several projects including pressure washing decks and stairs, then re-staining both. Also painted a downstairs room and basement entrance doors.

Another project finished

Finished the touchup painting at the downtown storefront this morning.  I think it looks really good.  The store owner said she was really pleased with the work.

Now on to figuring the estimate for another project.

Downtown Project

Almost finished with the storefront repair and paint project.  All that is left to do is minor paint touchup work.  It looks really nice and the business owner was pleased with the finished look.

Looks like next project will be repairing the roof on a veranda in Tunnel Hill.  Hope to get material prices this weekend and start next week.

Painting Trim

Business cards arrived today. Very pleased with the way the cards look.  Spent part of today mowing a yard.  It was nice mowing today, weather is cloudy and cool.  Tomorrow is supposed to be hot again.

I will be working tomorrow painting trim.  The trim will be painted a rust color.  I have a piece of the old trim with the original color and will be using it to match the paint color for the trim.  This is the same building I worked on last week.  I think it will look really good when it is finished.

Storefront in Dalton

Spent several days this week tearing out and replacing old wood trim on a storefront in downtown Dalton. The challenge here was finding trim that was close in shape to the original trim.  The original was approx. 4 inches wide.  Could not match it exactly, but we were able to get close. I used a 1x2 and a 1 inch wide trim piece on either side of the 1x2. This gave us a look similar to the original.  Also the moulding I used was made from plastic/vinyl.  This was used because it will hold up to the weather well and will require less maintenance than wood.

Spent part of today cutting up fallen tree limbs at a house in Chattanooga.  Will be back there tomorrow to finish trimming some low hanging limbs. The limbs block the view of the house from the street.
